There are many reasons to learn English, however some of the most important reasons are :

English is one of the most influencial languages in the world. Based on a research article written by George Webber in 1995, English was the most influencial of the world languages in the early 1990s.

Most jobs in Canada require English.

Entrance into Canadian University and Colleges require a good grasp of the English language.

Most home pages on the internet are in English. One estimate put English home pages on the internet at 80%.
